It’s been a busy week for Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood with Deadline reporting that ten additional performers have been added to the film’s supporting cast. In addition to the previously announced Leonard DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Timothy Olyphant, Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning, James Marsden, and Al Pacino, the supporting ensemble is reportedly being rounded out with Spencer Garrett, Martin Kove, James Remar, Brenda Vaccaro, Nichole Galicia, Mike Moh, Craig Stark, Marco Rodriguez, Ramón Franco, and Raul Cardona.
The new additions include several returning players for the director. Longtime Tarantino fave Remar appeared in the director’s Django Unchained, Nichole Galicia also appeared in Django Unchained, and Craig Stark appeared in both Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight. Brenda Vaccaro has a distinguished history in the industry with a memorable turn in Midnight Cowboy (1969) and an Academy Award nominated performance in Once Is Not Enough (1975). Martin Kove, most famous for portraying the villainous sensei John Kreese in The Karate Kid franchise, has appeared on the New Beverly screen many times over the last few years in films such as Capone (1975), Death Race 2000 (1975), and White Line Fever (1975). Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is set in Los Angeles during the tumultuous summer of 1969, with a former western tv star (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double (Brad Pitt) struggling to come to terms with a Hollywood that doesn’t exist anymore. The highly anticipated film is slated to hit theaters on August 9th, 2019.
